Judy Meadow is a partner at Russ August & Kabat, where she practices in the litigation department.
Ms. Meadow’s practice focuses on sophisticated business litigation. She has significant experience regarding trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, trademark infringement, interference with contract and related business torts, real estate and construction contracts, as well as employment matters.
Ms. Meadow has extensive trial experience. She tried cases in both state and federal courts as well as before numerous arbitration panels. Most recently, in 2007, she tried a breach of contract and fraud claim before a JAMS arbitrator, where she won a favorable award of almost $500,000 to the client. In 2005, Ms. Meadow obtained an award of more than $3.8 million in a bench trial of a breach of contract action. In 2004, she co-tried a construction contract case brought against a real estate developer client involving claims for $9 million.
Previously, Ms. Meadow was co-lead counsel for Crane Co. in a jury trial involving trade secrets and unfair competition claims. Ms Meadow also served as co-lead counsel for McGraw-Hill, Inc. in a jury trial of a libel action. Ms Meadow represented United Express, a commuter airline, in a four-week federal court trial regarding access to Long Beach Airport, in which the airlines successfully invalidated a city noise control ordinance and obtained flights for the commuter airline. Ms. Meadow represented Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. in a jury trial concerning breach of a contact to pay real estate commissions. She has also successfully tried other cases involving trade secrets, unfair competition and contract claims.
Prior to joining Russ August & Kabat, Ms. Meadow was an associate and then Of Counsel at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker.
