Kevin Burke is an associate at Russ August & Kabat, where he is a member of the firm's litigation and intellectual property litigation groups. Mr. Burke has extensive experience representing clients in patent infringement lawsuits in U.S. District Courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission, as well as State Court disputes involving intellectual property ownership rights. Mr. Burke earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry at Kalamazoo College, where he lettered four times on the Varsity Football Team. He received his J.D. from Michigan Law School, where he interned for Professor James J. White and contributed to Death and Resurrection of Secured Credit, 12 ABI L. Rev. 139 (2004) and casebooks authored by Professor White. Following law school, Mr. Burke joined the intellectual property litigation group of Sidley Austin LLP. Mr. Burke has been active on pro bono matters throughout his legal career and was recently lead counsel at two hearings before the Immigration Court where he successfully obtained asylum for a Kenyan national based on persecution by a politico-religious sect the government of Kenya has been unable to control.
