Russ August & Kabat’s (RAK) patent trial team, led by Marc Fenster and Reza Mirzaie, won a patent infringement victory on behalf of its client, Headwater Research LLC, against Samsung Electronics America Inc., et al. The Trial Team included Brian Ledahl, Benjamin T. Wang, James S. Tsuei, James Milkey, Jason M. Wietholter, James Pickens, Kristopher Davis, Paul Kroeger, Philip Wang, Adam S. Hoffman and Minna Jay, in addition to Andrea Fair of Miller Fair Henry PLLC.The jury found all asserted claims infringed and not invalid, and awarded $278,791,460 in royalties to Headwater Research LLC for Samsung Electronics America Inc., et al’s infringement of its patents for wireless communications. The patents at issue were US Patent Nos. 9,198,117 and 8,406,733.
