Ali-Reza is a partner at Russ August & Kabat, where he focuses on intellectual property litigation, licensing, and strategic patent portfolio analysis. Ali-Reza specializes in complex patent and trade secrets disputes and is highly experienced in all phases of litigation before U.S. district courts, the International Trade Commission, and the USPTO. His technological case experience spans a wide range, including wireless communication standards, robotics, machine learning, digital electronics, and biomedical engineering. In addition, Ali-Reza advises clients through strategic licensing negotiations as well as analysis and acquisition of patent portfolios.

Before joining Russ August & Kabat, Ali-Reza was a Partner in the IP Litigation group at Kirkland & Ellis, where he led and managed trial teams from pre-filing case analysis through trial. In that capacity, he also worked with counsel in other countries to coordinate global patent enforcement strategies for clients.

Before law school, Ali-Reza completed his doctorate in Engineering Sciences / biomedical engineering at Harvard University, where his doctoral research focused on modeling how brain cells encode sensory information.

In 2025, Ali-Reza was recognized as one of the Lawdragon 500 Leading Global IP Lawyers.
